I'm OBSESSED with learning how to do anything and everything for my business from my iPhone. This has been essential to maximizing my snuggle time on the couch with my Yorkie-Poo and favorite human while growing my business on the go.
I'm very passionate about teaching my techniques to fellow business owners so they too can realize the creative freedom that's gained when you're no longer limited to tech, software, or a designer for your visual marketing needs. I'm also an actual certified teacher as well. I've taught kindergarten for six years and 4th grade Spanish immersion math & science teacher for seven years.
Whether it's cake decorating, making educational games, or producing a tutorial for Smartphone Marketing School, I always have the itch to create something new. I'd much rather make things than market them. That's how I fell in love with my iPhone and visual content creation. It made what was once a yucky aspect of marketing something I enjoy.
Honestly, I can't even tell you the timeline of my transition to my iPhone for all of my designs, photos, and videos. It was gradual and experimental. Slowly but surely, as I discovered new apps and techniques, I was learning to do it all from my iPhone. It began with product photos. Then I discovered how to turn them into social media designs for Pinterest, Facebook ads, Instagram, etc. Then I took those designs along with iPhone footage and began creating videos. Now I'm in this weird place where I can't go back to creating visual content on a desktop even if I wanted to.
So, my businesses have definitely benefited from my choice in a life partner. My husband happens to be a graphic designer and proficient photographer. He's been my mentor from the start and gave me my first iPhone back in 2008. If it wasn't for him, I'd probably still have my Nextel flip phone. Side note: He's from Argentina. He's so stinkin' adorable and talented. We had an online romance and that's how I learned Spanish.
Well, I don't know if #vanLIFER is actually correct, but my husband and I have spent quite a few months traveling in an RV van. It's the most freeing experience ever.
What can I say? Spending more time with her on the couch is probably what led me to find ways to use my iPhone to work on my business instead of always being stuck at my laptop. She's my heart.
